Kashida Fill: Arabic Justification for Illustrator
Description When Illustrator justifies Arabic text, it fills each line by widening the spaces between words, which leaves visible gaps. Kashida Fill measures each line and adds kashidas (tatweel ـ) inside the words, in the places classical Arabic typography uses, until the line fills the width of its frame. You get full, even lines that look written by hand. The kashidas are ordinary characters, so the text stays live and editable. You can remove them or restore the original text whenever you want. Features - One-click Apply Kashida. Works on the selected text frames or on the whole document. - Smart Apply (Alt+Click). First balances the line breaks so lines are a similar length, then fills them. - Correct typographic placement. Kashidas never go inside the lam-alef ligature or right after the definite article "al-", and never after non-joining letters. The Name of God is never stretched. - Two rule sets. Classic allows kashidas in most joined positions. Strict follows tighter, refined rules. - Full control. Set the maximum kashidas per word (1–10 or unlimited), the target width (frame or longest line), a safety margin, and the minimum gap to fill. - Skip options. Skip the last line of a paragraph, the first words of a line, short lines, or specific line numbers. - Line-break tools. Reflow to a set number of words per line, or balance a paragraph over N lines. - Tashkeel tools. Remove diacritics and put them back later, even after kashidas have been added. - Restore Original. Returns the text exactly as it was before Kashida Fill changed it. - The panel matches Illustrator's interface. Requirements: Adobe Illustrator CC 2015 (v19) or later, on Windows or macOS.
